Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13 1989. Her discography covers a variety of genres. Her songwriting - often in the form of personal reflections--has been praised by critics and received extensive media attention. Swift was raised in West Reading, Pennsylvania. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at 14 to become a singer-songwriter. She signed a songwriting and recording agreement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Her self-titled debut album in 2006 marked Swift as the first female country singer to have an album that was U.S.-certified platinum. Swift's next albums Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2011) explored the country genre. The former's "Love Story" and "You Are My Friend" were among the first country songs to top the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts respectively. She tried out electronic and rock styles in Red (2012), which featured the debut Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Reuniting Together", and eschewed her country image in her synth-pop album, 1989 (2014) which was accompanied by chart-topping songs "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Media scrutiny inspired the urban-flavored Reputation (2017) as well as its number-one single "Look at What You Did to Me Do". Swift who had left Big Machine, signed with Republic Records for her seventh studio album Lover (2019) which then followed it with the autobiographical film Miss Americana 2020. Swift delved into indie folk and alternative rock with her albums for 2020, Folklore and Evermore which featured two singles "Cardigan" as well as "Willow" topped the Hot 100. Swift began rerecording six of her albums following a dispute about their creators. In 2021, she released two albums: Fearless (Taylor’s) and Red. The latter's "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" became the longest track to make it onto the Hot 100. Records for streaming all time were broken by Swift's 2022 album Midnights, and the single "Anti-Hero". Swift has also directed music films and videos like All Too Well, The Short Film (2021) and has also performed supporting roles. Having sold over 200 million albums worldwide, Swift is one of the best-selling musicians in history. Swift is the most streamed female on Spotify and is the only artist with five albums on the market with more than 1 million copies sold within the US. Her accolades include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners and an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She is also the holder of 92 Guinness World Records. Swift has been featured in such rankings as Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time; Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists; Forbes Celebrity 100; and Billboard’s 100 Greatest of All Time Artists. Swift, who was named Artist of the Decade and Woman of the Decade for her advocacy of artists' rights and women empowerment, was honored with a variety of awards. Her music is acknowledged as having influenced a generation of musicians and singers.
