Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a uncommon pop sensation: A celebrity who has strayed from country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon that will last forever and conquering everywhere. Swift removed her roots in the country as if they were just a second skin to reveal that she was arguably the smartest popular singer/songwriter in her generation one who could harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform opposite. This was evident in her early songs, particularly on the neo tribute towards Tim McGraw. On her 2nd album, Fearless (2008), Swift showed a songwriter getting to understand herself. Fearless was a big hit not only in the US which is where its Top Ten singles Love Story as well as You Belong with Me helped it to record six platinum albums but also around the world. It performed particularly well across Canada, Australia and the U.K. Swift's next album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this success. The album propelled Swift to the heights of fame. In the following three years, Swift's popularity increased -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as Swift entered the arena of pop in which her talent was already well established. Her popularity grew even after she reformulated her approach with 2020's pared-down siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
